The padrón is the city's register of residents. Barcelona City Council says that people who come to live in the city register at the address where they usually live, and that a legal residence status is not needed for it.

- For children: the family book or birth record, or the parents' passports showing the child's details
Do it yourself
- Check the document list for your case on the City Council page, by calling 010 or at a Citizen Attention Office (OAC).
- Apply online through the City Council's Virtual Office, or in person at an OAC.
- Keep a padrón certificate for later steps; some procedures ask for a recently issued one.
The City Council page does not state a fixed period. Check the official source.
